Some Words In Stanzas

So this is what I sometimes do in my free time. Art’s not mine as I am not nearly as awesome as these artists. If you’re the owner of one of the pieces then let me know if you want it down. As it is, it’s just for fun, NO MONEY TO BE MADE HERE PLEASE DON’T SUE ME. I credited everyone I could, but don’t know the author of the title piece as well as the real title / artist of the “Ship Lost at Sea” painting, let me know if you do. Peace & love.

A teardrop in the sea…

And holy crap, it’s another update! Is this the real life or is it just fantasy?

I’ve sold an Interactive Story for a video game blogger’s sign up distribution list. You can check it out (and that’s only because I’m now famous and you’re checking my WP log from the ancient times of 2011) if you download it off her site.

The hyperlink story follows the quest of the new age computer specialist Diana Ross to disentangle a sentient virus from a virtual gaming environment. The virus, EVIL SELF, is bent on populating the digital environment with references to 1990′s video games and is causing complete mayhem to the the gaming company’s profits.

Also,

fuck out of here, faceboook, that's right

G+ is better. Peace.

Finally finished a 3,500 short (4,000 before the first round of cuts), so this week’s a crit-friendly week, courtesy of critters.org.

In other news, wrote some freelance stuff over the past few months for GREAT JUSTICE and a few extra bucks.

After writing 7 articles about Search Engine Optimization and then scoring a job to come up with meta tags for a London escort agency website, I’ve gotten lucky with a job slightly more interesting.

To be more specific, it involved writing / re-writing texts for a video game… A social network game about virtual fishing, no less.

BioWare, here I come! :)

As some of you may have noticed, the humorous video game review website GameLemon.com no longer exists (much to the dismay of everybody, might I add).

All the contributors — especially the editor Max Hrabrov — did a fantastic job with the website over the years.  I’d also like to note how awesome Max’s edits were, often adding a lot of more value in so little words to practically all the reviews that he edited.

I’ve backed up all of my reviews that Max was kind enough to publish via the GameSpot’s  Reader Review function, and you can find the links to the respective reviews in the Non-Fiction part of this site.

Bye bye, GameLemon.com.

It was fun while it lasted.

My review for “Metro 2033″ is now up on Classic Game Room. Check it out by clicking HERE.

My review for the PC version of “Batman: Arkham Asylum” finally found itself a home at Classic Game Room. You can check it out by clicking HERE.

SFrevu posted a very favorable review for Abyss & Apex Issue 32, and my flash fiction story got a nice mention.

In “The Chinese Chef Was a Hologram” by Max Salnikov, Falco is wired into the Internet through his hair and is always connected. This is of no use to him when he needs to design a new piece of furniture and he just can’t get inspired. When he tries a new service called INSPIRE ME NOW, things change for him in this cleverly written piece.

The Abyss & Apex Magazine of Speculative Fiction editors were kind enough to buy a story of mine titled “The Chinese Chef was a Hologram” a couple of months back.  The story is now available from the magazine’s current edition. You can check out the story either via a link from the FICTION section of my site, or you can just click HERE!

I’ve backed up Robin Sloan’s “Robin Writes a Book” KickStarter project with a few dollars after hearing his wonderful “Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Book Store” over at Escape Pod (narrated by Steve Eley). If you enjoy science fiction short stories and haven’t heard of Escape Pod yet, then you’ve been missing out. Thankfully, there’s an easy fix.

VG review (Prototype)

My review for Prototype is now up on GameLemon (as always, thanks to Max Hrabrov for his awesome edits).
